I wanted to build the red fortress but after having clicked on the first die (red 1 die) I could not build anything. There was no red border on buildable buildings.

So maybe recategorize this as a suggestion to add tooltips or some notifications on this. Or maybe in the log (also, log could show the dice roll for the record).
Other than that, I think that this implementation lacks some "candy" (like nicer hover CSS, transitions, real drawings of buildings instead of squares, effects, etc.) but I imagine that you are to add this afterwards.
An update has been pushed that addresses this among many other issues :)
