Unfortunately these issues crop up rather randomly and while I do have some suspicions about what may be wrong in the original implementation (whose author hasn't been seen here for a long time), the only real solution is probably a complete rewrite from the bottom up, keeping the top 4 or 5 bug/suggestion reports in mind. Needless to say... don't hold your breath.
Setting state to "infoneeded" in the (admittedly rather vain) hope that someone comes up with a way to reproduce this reliably.
Your bug has probably been fixed already, or was linked to a temporary failure of BGA service.
In any case, when filling a bug report, make sure to have an explicit title linked to the incident (ex: with error message), so other players can recognize it and vote for it.
